Default A cheap mod..

I have an extra 60 bucks laying around and its burning a hole in my pocket. I am going to buy vinyl with it, to red out my taillights, but thats all I can think of.

Is there any cheap mods anyone reccommends ? I am not talking about ghetto APC crap, but just a little something.

I am thinking about getting some nice car care products and maybe something else.. Anyways, I am just kinda asking what would you do with it, if your not saving it?

They have a pretty good deal on a Meguiars car care package on cardomain, so I may end up getting that with the red out vinyl.

yup. I just did this for 6 hours last night. wash, clay bar, polish, wax. and I woke up this morning to shine it up a bit more. my ******* arm is sore!

anyways, you can do:

-short shifter
-black house headlights
-black out grille
-seafoam
-complete car wash as said above
-oil change/oil filter/air filter/plugs
-NGK plug wires

thats all I think of right now.

How would I go about blacking out my head lights? Does it affect how bright your headlights shine? I just put in silverstars and would hate for the new brightness to be taken away already LOL...

basically, you remove the clear lens, tape off the reflective area and paint the rest flat black. You don't paint the lens, just the housing. Then put it back together. It's more involved than that but you get the idea.

edit:
if you search you'll probably find a DIY write-up for it.

Oh, ok thanks. I will do a search about it now. If anyone else has anything more to add to this then please do.

EDIT: Black house headlights isn't turning anything up.

Does anyone know of a little DIY step-by-step on this, on the web? I am sort of a visual learner, but if the instructions go in baby steps I can do it too.

here is one I found on a quick search using Google. It's for 90-93 Accord but it'll give you an idea of whats required.

http://www.hondaforums.com/JDM...t.htm

I'll see if I can find something for the newer Accords.

Relocate your battery to the trunk, you should have enough for that (you might have to save up a few more bucks but it will be well worth it).

If you do decide to do that, make sure your battery is sealed or securely bolted down. Otherwise it may fall over and leak acid...

yea, its really not as hard as it sounds. I just did it this weekend and it took about 5 hours. It was my first time ever. The "hardest", and I use quotes because it was more tedious than hard, was the masking of the reflector. I still managed to get it right even with my ogre hands, lol.

heres a mini DIY:

1) take off headlights.
2) preheat oven to 225
3) place headlight in oven on a cookie sheet
4) bake for 10 minutes
5) take out and pull the two halves apart. you may want to use a flat head screwdriver for this.
6) let cool, then mask off anything you dont want painted.( use that blue masking tape)
7) spray as many coats as you'd like. leave time in between each so they can dry.
8) take of tape CAREFULLY and SLOWLY, you dont want the reflective part to come off.
9) put back in oven for about 5 minutes, just enough to get the stuff that holds them together sticky, then put them back together. put clips back on and re-install them.
