Default d16 into 86 crx

I have an 86 crx si sitting at my work. It doesnt run, I am almost cetain that a d16 from a 96-00 civic would bolt right in. I am planning on going to the junk yard and pulling the motor. As far as I know, all I need is motor, tranny, axels, and the knuckle and hubs (spindles). If any body has any info for this swap, please let me know. If I find an ex is there an ecu that will plug into the factory 86 wire harness which would give me vtec. Not looking to spend alot on this car. I don't plan on keeping it.

far from a bolt in. 1G Teg motors are pretty easy to swap. Check out redpepperracing.com for more info (if the site ever comes back up).

wouldn't the D16 from a 96-00 Civic be a SOHC?

Definatelly swap an Integra ZC DOHC in there - especially that its a 86 Si - which should already have a ZC in there - its a straight swap!

I've actually seen a D16 bolted into a 1G CRX. The transmission used was a 1G Integra, although not all bolt holes were used. And what looked like some kind of factory Honda mount was bolted to the holes in the front above the A/C compressor. Don't ask me where the bracket came from, as I don't know.

did a little more research, and I am planning on putting a d16a1 86-87 integra motor in it. It will be a bolt-in for the most part. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
