Clutch cable question...
I have a b16a in a 90 dx hatch but cant figure out what exactly needs to be done to the stock clutch cable in order for it to work, as of right now I cant get the tranny to go into gear when the engine is running. I searched and found that it needs to be modified, but in what way? Thanks.
flushed and refilled it before starting as well as all other fluids. What I came up with is that it's the clutch cable itself. Anybody else have any ideas? Thanks.
Well sounds like your cable. You are using a cable intended for a different engine /trans combo. If its not going into gear while running, it's either too loose or too tight. causing clutch not to disengage or synchronize. Me and my buddy ran into this problem on his 89 HF with a JDM b16. The bracket on the trans that the adjuster for the cable sits on placed the adjuster to high and has causing trans to slip. We cut he eyelet off of the top and flipped it over so it sat lower, adjusted and problem solved. See if you are able to move he placement of the bracket. Sounds like you may not have a tight enough cable. One other thing, if your clutch is totally destroyed, it will cause it to do the same exact thing.
