Default H22 Coil issues, JDM to USDM conversion problems

Hey guys, my buddy has a H22 swap in his Del Sol. I know it's not a Prelude but I figured it would be okay to post here since the motor is what matters, not the car.

Anyways the problem is that the bearings on his JDM distributor bit the dust and the distributor is no good anymore.

He picked up a USDM H22 distributor from the junkyard, found out that JDM distributors have internal and USDM have external, so we went and bought a MSD coil.

What we need to know is which wires to connect to the Positive (+) side of the coil and which to hook to the Negative (-) side of the coil. I have searched and only came up with people using factory coils.

Please advise.

your going to have a problem with swapping to a usdm distributor from a jdm.

on the JDM motor, the crank sensors are in the distributor. on the usdm motor, they are on the oil pump. Which means if you swap to a USDM distributor, your not going to have crank sensors and the car will not run.

Is that correct based on OBD1 and OBD2?

So basically we have to find a used JDM distributor and a USDM distributor will not work...
