Oil where the spark plugs go?
My dad has a 96 accord at his dealership that I can get for only 600 bucks. The exterior and interior are near perfect. When I was overlooking the motor I noticed that on the valve cover there was an opening towards the fuel rail that looked like was missing a cap. so then I took out the plug wires for cylinder 2 & 3
and there was a **** load of oil in the bottom of the tubes. I know what your thinking but it doesnt make sense to me. With all that oil coming from those cylinders there is no way that they would fire up but there isnt a cel for misfire, also the car DOESNT SMOKE when drivin leaving me clueless as to whats goin on. is it possible that oil is coming out of the top of the valve cover from that opening and leaking down into where the spark plugs are? It was dark so I couldnt see if there was any oil unburnt oil coming from the exhaust. its a 97 accord lx f22b2. here are soem pics
the red circle is where the opening is, that I think should have some type of cover.

and here are some pics of the engine.

any help would be great, I need to figure out what the problem is before 11:30 am or I will miss my chance to buy it.

ok.... start using the red button the says "search" on the top right of your screen.
Do a search under "spark plug" or "plugs" and you will find lots of info on how to change the spark plug seals and your valve cover gasket, because that's what looks like you need.

I know what a valve cover gasket it and clearly isnt the problem, second the real problem is wtf is that hole? I looked at honda automotive parts and couldnt find anything. and yes iver seen water is spark plugs threads but water comes from outside the motor and oil from inside the motor. I searched and didnt find anythign specific to the problem
The whole is missing the PVC valve, which cost around 3 bucks at auto stores.
Small as is, the pvc valve is essential for the engine, and without it... it WILL spill oil out of the engine.....

Read this link. It will tell you what needs to be done. The spark plug holes have two seams. One for the valve cover and one for the rockerarm assy. There are some orings under there that need to be changed. When the oil gets high enough in the holes, it will short the plugs, which will make the engine run bad. Link below.

In reference to the links provided. The cb7 link says that you should back off all the valves, and re-set them after replacing the orings. This may not be necessary, just be careful to line everything up before tightening. The ozaccord link does not say to do this. However, the ozaccord link does say to remove the distributor, which I see no reason for. Good luck, with your repair
PS: I think the ozaccord link is actually better (shorter, and more to the point) aside from the distributor thing. You should also have a repair manual, to go along with the link info.
