Default crx ingalls camber kit 35720 install? help work in progress!!!!!

The metal tube in the bushings definlty doesn't fit in, am I doing somthing wrong?
I searched and no one mentioned anything about grinding of the metal peice for it to fit. The bushings themselves, without the metal peice, fits so I guess i'm making this post to make sure i'm not retarded, maybe theres some way for a square peg to fit into a round hole.

Should I grind it down and call it a day or is there some other way of doing this im not seeing...

#1 is where #2 would go into, #2 is about 1/8" to big for it to work. There is no way to bend open #1 for it to fit because it would just make a wedge and not a parallel opening for #2 to fit in.
