All motor lude at the track
Well I decided i would go to the track at about 7:00 pm Late decision but I had an itch. I put on my 7 year old 205 50 15 BFG radials. These are the ones BFG had before they even started making the ones for imports.
Typically when I go to the track i will get there with about 1.5 gallons of gas but last night was such a last minute decision i showed up with approx 6 gallons. about 40lbs heavier then I would like.
The conditions were excellent I must say about 60-65 low humidity and no wind.
The only down fall was that the track was ungodly packed. I got in the lanes at 8:30 and was only able to make 2 runs which the second started at 11:20. But any ways...
first run: 60: 2.11
1/8: 8.643
mph: 83.346
Pretty good traction in the right lane but i have hit 2.0 60' in the past. but this was my first pass. I have always been able to cut 2.1 60' very consistantly.
Now having said that the second run in the left lane was a terrible 60'. I have not pulled one that bad in years.
second run: 60: 2.416
1/8: 8.867
mph: 85.225
Now considering the shitty 60' there is some promise with the second run. Easily with a 2.1 60' the times would be low 8.50's and with my fuel weight down 8.4 is very possible with a 2.1 60 ft. Plus the trap speed is pretty impressive.
And for you lazy asses, read the whole post.

Focus your efforts on better 60ft times. 1.8's are possible, depending on your weight. I pull consistant low 1.7's, but my car weighs in around 2550lbs.
Good work!
Just for comparison, which should give you hope... Here are a couple of 8th mile passes I have made.
8.329 @ 86.03 = 12.95 @ 106.49 1/4mile pass
8.44 @ 83.68 = 13.17 @ 104.17 1/4 mile pass

thank you. i am hoping for a 13.4 1/4. I would like to see a 105 mph trap.
Thanks Scott. Were you able to hit 1.8 on radials or slicks? I think that 2.0 is possible with a newer version radial.
I have never weighed my car but I do have alot of weight out of it. to name a couple extremes ABS, Sound deadening, A/C and power steering. There is no rear interior. Obviously all of the other small stuff that can be removed has been done.

I guess on slicks it would be possible.
I do have some new 225 50 15 bfg radials tha i can use whenever on Mugen wheels. This would probably help me get cosistant 2.0 60'.

you could DEFF pull lower 60's with those tires...i did 1.9's on 185/65/14's with about your same power/tq in my 2.1L b-series.....of course, i was lighter....but, tires are not even compareable. it's still damned impressive for a lude and a seasoned engine...i'm all kinds of impressed
