i have a 1991 civic dx looking to do a motor swap soon. what would be the easiest and cheapest way to go. I've never even removed a motor from a car before, and i plan on takling this job myself. Imput would be great.

a b16, just make sure you get the first gen. with the cable tranny and is OBD 0. Otherwise you will have to deal with more wiring issues.

Yes b16 and d15 are totally different. If you just want to keep your car running I'd suggest just rebuild th motor, if you want it to be faster/funner swap.

If you want the "cheapest" root then the B16 would be a great choice for the car. As for the "easiest" part, well that will depend since this will be your first motor swap. It would be good to have a friend there who has performed a swap before for extra help with those wiring issues. Its a pretty straight-forward swap so it shouldnt be too difficult. Just take your time and have fun with it. There is plenty of write-ups on the web that take you step by step on the swap for your specific car.

Also (IMHO) this site offers the best quality swaps around....They actually come COMPLETE and in excellent shape!
