99 accord transmission help!!!!
i have a 4 cyl. automatic accord.... the problem im facing is when the car shifts into second gear i feel a rumble... should i be concerned and how can i solve this problem??? i checked my trans fluid and it checks out..... it sometimes does it... please help!!!
My cousin made the initial post for me because I didnt know about this forum. But the cars fluid is fine the color is red with no odor, none that stands out to be abnormal anyways.
But when the car shifts to 2nd gear it feels like I drove over 2 rumble strips, like two vibrations. It shifts fine into every other gear, but second. Please help, I would really hate to have to replace the tranny or spend tons of money that I dont have. Thanks

Sounds like a shift solenois is sticking. Has the trans been flushed with ATF-Z1 (Honda brand fluid)? It really does make a difference. The linear shift solenoid may be sticking or possibly one of the others. But Honda reccomends replacing all of them if you can't figure out which one it is (heck of a lot cheaper than a trans)

If your car has less than 100,000 miles on it, take it to a honda dealership and get a new transmission. The warranty was extended to 100k for the 99 and 00 models. In fact, if you wanna bring it up to me in Ellicott City, I can do it in about 2 hours.

Maybe. I'll have to check on monday. I might be able to fudge the miles or something. I'll get back to you though.

The warranty extension doesn't cover the 99 models. Only 00 and 01. He may be able to get goodwill coverage if he has a good service record at a dealer.
