Anyone here a tech at honda? I need some info validated
Im dealing with a service tech that says a 10-15% leakdown is great, and that honda really has no limits
this is on a 2003 45k miles s2000.
I know that honda states that on any motor the max leakdown tolorence is 10 percent. When i bought the car used at 30k it had a 3 percent leakdown. My compression is at 216 psi in every cylinder, but thats down from 240 psi 2 months ago after i got my valves adjsutes, and i have maybe put 200 mile sont he motor since then.
I have the honda service manual pdf, but i cant find the leakdown toloerences

just got word from a tech at a dealer 40 miles from me that most dealers are supposed to tear down a motor that has 7% or higher leakdown numbers, and that with a motor with my mileage it should be no higher than 3, 4 being the worst case scenario
i dont work for honda or anything but 10-15 is way too high.
id say five or less is normal.
