Greddy turbo kits??
Im looking for long term reliability for my 01 lude I here all the stories about peeps blowing there motors boosting ludes with the greddy kits, just wondering why or what they are doing wrong??? should you get a hi boost head gasket or any mods just to run the stock 7 or 8lbs of boost??? Any info appreciated!
Most engines blow because people take short cuts. Get a proper engine management - along with a good fuel system, and you should be fine.
Another reason why people blow their engines is because they want more boost. Everyone tells me time after time that boost is addicting. You'll eventually want more boost than 7/8 pounds. So, once you get that itch, you'll buy a manual boost controller for a few bucks on ebay. Crank the boost up, and then pop. Its inevitable.
Nah, seriously, just do it right and you won't have a problem.
The greddy turbo is pretty small anyway, so 7/8psi isn't bad.

I had a greddy turbo kit on my 97 prelude and it was alot of fun..... you'll love the low end to mid range torque and power because of the small 18g turbo its great.... but the top end blows!!! it falls of badly because the turbo is so small... I am a case of what The Weather Man is talking about.... 7 pounds felt pretty good but, soon i wanted more, so i got a profec b II and turned up the boost... 3-4 months later BLOWN!!!!! 2 cylinders had no compression..... If your gonna just run 7 pounds just stay with 7 pounds dont push it, unless you get a better fuel management than what greddy gived u (the blue box) ID SAY GO 8 TO 9 POUNDS WITH HONDATA and some 550's YOU'LL BE SATISFIED...
