Default Swirl Marks! Suggestions....?

Seems like after you put a few years on darker cars, these frustrating swirls start to appear on the paint. So you spend hours and hours waxing it and it finally looks acceptable. But when you pull out of your garage or driveway and into the sun, it feels like you've spent the last two hours for nothing cuz the swirl marks are as clear as ever!

So I was just wondering if anyone has ever had success with these annoying hair pullers. Stories and suggestions, please post.

Damn, I'm having a brain fart. I can't think of the name of the product (we get it at Car Quest). We call it hand glaze in the shop but I'm sure that's not the name. I'll get the name for you tomorrow. It works great for removing the swirl marks (but you need to wax after) I let you know about this time on Tuesday

try 3M hand glaze. i used that and it made almost removed all the swirl marks. 3M has stronger stuff to get rid of swirl marks, bu the hand glaze worked for me and i have a black car.

www.carcareonline.com try them, they have some really nice products, but you can get the hand glaze at pep boys.

Any glaze is just a makeup product, it is not going to last. Glaze is just a thin oily product, that fills in the swirls for a short period of time. I havn't had a glaze last more than three weeks.

To fully remove swirls, you have to use an abrasive. Look into 3M's product line, 3M Finesse it, Finesse it II, perfect it, etc

I agree. 3M makes the best stuff for removing swirl marks. They actually make a swirl remover product (one for light color cars and one for dark color cars). Then put the hand glaze on top of that, THEN wax it

You can find the good 3M products at automotive paint supply stores, never at your auto parts store. If you can't find the swirl remover shoot me an e-mail and if you want to send the money for the product and shipping I can get it. There is a auto paint store a few miles from my work who has it. Good luck.

sorry for the late reply, Imperial hand glaze is the product. It will take some work to remove the swirls but other than machine buffing it's your only choice. I would suggest having someone help you when appling it (have the follow you and wipe the car down before it gets to dry) Don't be afraid to put some elbow grease into it and follow up with a good wax. Goodluck
