highest CR that anyone has passed smog with?
What does it matter?
You're not going to run anything over 12:1 anyway.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but as long as a motor is tuned properly and all emissions equipment is functioning properly, compression doesn't mean jack.
edit: Maybe NOx will increase, as they goes up with cylinder temps if I'm not mistaken.

so i could technically pass with an 11:1 CR? but if nox goes up as temp goes up, wouldnt i be screwed if the engine is hot when i get it smogged?

lol...
you're right though.. but i am still confused... so is the bottom line that it would technically pass?

One of the shops that I worked for did emission testing. I've seen MANY smaller motors come in running like ****, that passed by a mile. Fortunately, I passed twice
. I'm 99% sure that as long as it's tuned properly and all emissions equip is functioning, you'll pass with flying colors.

You want the cat to be nice and hot when you test. The highest compression I passed smog with, was just under 12:1.
