Question about D series Pistons
I have a D16A6 block in the process of being rebuilt. i just aquired a set of D16Y8 pistons for free. will they work in my block?i am on a limited budget and i was curious if they will work?
Your stock PM6's are -3.4cc's and the stock P2P's are -6.2cc's. I haven't factored in piston to deck height change, but more then likely you will lower your compression. Roughly half a point.
putting a y8 head on the a6 block with p2p pistons should work, be like a standard mini-me, though with compression closer to a stock y8

a6 block/head, y8 pistons/HG- 8.86:1 cr
a6 block, y8 head/pistons/HG- 9.76:1 cr
a6 block/pistons, y8 head/HG- 10.33:1 cr

if i put the p2p head on wont i have to convert my wiring harness to OBD1 correct? also my ecu?
this summer i was planning on boosting it only a few pounds so i dont have to upgrade to a higher octane of fuel. ill be keeping it as a daily driver.
when i do this should just keep my A6 head with the p2p pistons or should i upgrade to just the mini-me. and will i have to go to forged pistons or can i just keep the p2p with a low amount of boost. im thinking like 5 pounds of boost.
