Default Inexpensive skinnies solution??

I just recently fell in love with the sport of drag racing. I bought a set of Lensos w/ MH slicks for the front before I visited the track. I then realized how heavy my 15" daily wheels are.

I started researching skinnies and they are more expensive than I thought. Unfortunately there aren't any used sets for sale at the moment either.

I pondered the idea of using the spare tires but changing out the temporary tires with something like 155/80R13 or something like that. Do you guys think it's a good idea?? The only thing turning me off is the weight of the steel spare wheels...

Any ideas for cheap skinnies??

Yes, they are/were... but they need a lot of people to buy-in. Won't be for sale until summer of 2007 I read.

What he said, that and I dont know of a track that will let you run them. They say in both NHRA and IHRA rule books that there not allowed, but we all know how ghetto some tracks are.

Those VW sizes are prolly the perfect size but the speed rating is very very low...

Go 155/80/13 on the vx rims....or something similiar on the hx....skinnies are 15" so by going HX u will be a lil closer.....either will do.

I live in europe and whe have those rims in 14" and than u could use the old vw tyres and they are 145/70/14 if i am right. And that is the cheapest skinny setup.
