jdm foglight question
if the max wattage of the socket is 55 then yes 100 w bulb will damage the socket over time.
*edit* and technically running 100 watt bulb on a 12v (i think the fogs are 12v) system with 18 gauge wire the max amps is 6. but running 100 W bulb it will be giving off roughly 8 amps of power which will be bad on the wiring also over time. the stock 55w bulb only uses 4.5 amps.
FYI I'm an electrical associate at home depot.

I have some 100 watt hyper white bulbs in my JDM fogs, and they've been working just fine for over a year now...I swapped to HIDs for a little while until one of my bulbs fell out and broke
so now I'm back to my hyper white bulbs

what is the voltage on the system? ever had ne fuse problems?
just bc you havnt had problems dont mean you wont. take a household lamp that calls for 60 watts you put a 100 watt bulb and sometims it takes a year or two for the socket to go. of course everything has a life expectancy. but running higher then the max amount will decrease the time. believe me or not i dont care there not my fogs.

Nope, never had any fuse problems at all, plus I'm using H7 bulbs in my fogs since they plug right up to the harness. All I had to do was shave the metal ring thing a little so that I could clip them down. I don't mind, cause I got these bulbs for cheap at a car show
