i have a 1992 h23a and want to put he h22 in, can someone please give me a list of all the parts that NEED to be swapped out of the h23 in DETAIL ie. distributor, alternator... i need to know this because the junk yard i went to didnt know what the to give me and the engine/parts was in peices (not completely the head and block were together), i need to know what parts are interchangable and what are not. so if anyone can PLEASE give me a "things to buy" list i would GREATLY APPRECIATE it... and does anyone know if the h22 engine will run without the p13 installed yet?

you really just need to wire the vtec and yes you can use the p14 ecu you just won't have vtec i drove mine for about 3months before i got my p13

 

do you know if the alternator, starter, ect... are all interchangeable...could i use the ones from the h23

 

the starter should work fine. wire harness should work fine as long as you get a motor with the same obd as your car. alternator might need a different belt (same with PS and AC, but i'm not sure). also, check this out, it will tell you how to wire vtec:

the timing belts are going to be different right?
