Ceramic break pads
I have Carbon-Metallic Hawk HPS. Washing my car keeps the wheels clean. They last depending on your driving style. Stockers last me 20k+ miles. You're welcome.

i bought my 2005 new and i had to clean the dust off every 2 days, so i bought cermics right away. there is no dust, just the road dirt on the rims. theyve been on the car for 22-23k miles, im gonna take a look to see how much pad is left, but so far so good,
i do get good road breaking performance out of them. im very satisfied , anything else?

Ok now hotshot. He's got join date on you for one, plus he has good info. And in case you forget, 184 > 167.
Pull up the last post you made where you actually helped someone out? Exactly. GTFO!

Back to this original post, is that the only reason you want ceramic pads? As a poor effort keep from having to wash your wheels often?
In my opinion, put a brake pad on the car with a compound that suits your driving habits. Both ceramic pads (including the stock pads on 00-03) and the metallic pads (04+) have excellent stopping characteristics.
If you like to track the car or auto x with it now and again, you better be willing to sacrafice the stopping performance with a little more brake dust.
If you bought the S just for cruising around and looking good (or at least trying to) then might as well get the ceramic pads and become a little lazier in life.

Since his question was answered. What is a good pad for auto-x/sirited driving offten? You said ceramic was better for cruising and not for racing/ hard driving. So is metalic the way to go? thanks in advance.

That is a brand, not a type. Carbon Metallics work well with auto-x and tracking IMO. Upgraded lines and fluids help also. Make sure your rotors aren't too grooved, they tend to do that easily on racing pads.
u have a choice to make, street pads or tracking pads. i didnt like the stock pads, so i put on ceramics. for street use the havey excellant stopping power, plus the advantage of no black dust, i have around 23k in spirited driving and they still perform like new.
but if u want to know which pad has the best peformance then ask what is the best race pad
and its not being lazy when u wash your car then in 1 or 2 days the car is still very clean except now u have black rims, id rather be driving the s than washing itevery 2 days, thats not lazy

I run my car at Time Trials/Time Attack. Hawk HPS works great. Does not groove the rotors as readily also.

Good street pad: performance friction, choose the model appropriate to your driving style and it can be picked up at most local auto stores.
Great track pack: Ferodo DS3000 endurance, good track life and pedal feel.
Be sure to address brake cooling first before switching to an aggressive brake pad compound. The more aggressive the brake pad, the more often you'll be changing rotors.

A general rule to abide by on honda-tech, anytime you bring up post count or join date, a moderator will generally reset both. Just a warning.
