My accord has been chosen for a test only smog. I dont have any hook ups to pass the car, so i had to make it pass. Here is my qquestion, can i go test the car and see if it passes before i take it to the test only center? I dont wanna run around and spend money if its not gonna pass, i rather know ahead of time. thanks for the help

 

You should be able to have it tested at a test/repair station. If you live in California or have laws that are similiar to ours from whereever you are, try to have it prestested on a dyno. Most test/repair shops that I seen don't have dyno setups. Since all test only stations use dynos (at least in California) there test's are more strenuous than that of the old school machines alot of the repair stations still have. Your car might pass at a repair station's setup, but once at the test only station, on the dyno it may fail.

wouldnt hurt to dump some in and do a pretest.
bottle is like 5 bucks, pretest are usually around 15.

 

You can pretest it, but an Aborted Test will still show on the vehicles California smog registry.
