pipe diameter
i want to put a 2.25 or 2.5 pipe from the cat back and have a universal muffler on the end. If i have a bigger pipe will it increase in sound if i have the biger pipe????

2.25 is plenty, I just got my exhaust on my 99 Accord sedan, and 2.25 is more than plenty. Try the exhaust without the resonator first, you can always add it later, its a lot tougher to take it off.

2.5 is good for our motors.
A recent issue of Grassroots Motorsports did some extensive exhaust testing. For the most part, larger piping increases flow, but reduces exhaust velocity, and some low down power can be lost, but it's all a gain on the top end and overall.
