Toda ITB kit
hi, are any of you itr guys running the toda individual throttle body kit? just curious as to how you like it and how is the fuel system rigged? also what happens to all the sencors on the intake man? do you need to run a stand alone? thanks
It needs a dedicated ECU which is planned but not available yet from TODA.
Mucho dinero - and not worth the $$$ unless you've already done everything else you can to the motor (high comp, headwork, cams, fuel system etc...)

yeah im planning on building my race motor. but just doin some research. whats a dedicated ecu? is it a regular ol' ecu thats tuned to use with ITB's? or a special system? also what happens to the sencors on the intake man? thanks oh btw does any other company make ITB's? thanks
TODA RACING Sports Injection Kit
Available for: B16A, B16B, B18C Type-R
TODA sports injection kits vastly improve engine throttle response and power output through the use of one throttle body per cylinder. Effective tuning per cylinder is not compromised as with the standard one throttle body configuration of the factory intake manifold. Price: $2,650 USD**
** Technical Note: The TODA Sports Injection kit requires a fully programmable fuel injection computer, custom engine wiring harness, and injectors.
In approximately 6 months we will release a complete kit that includes the TODA Sports Injection unit, a custom wiring harness, and ECU.

They just look like Webers to me...
Had them on many cars for many years... Lots of British tuners whip off the fuel injection from modern motors and run Webers.. Very tuneable for individual cylinders, and flow VERY well thank you very much...
Too bad someone hasn't tried it on an ITR... Set of 48's with some bad *** chokes might just make some nice throttle response
A friend of mine just got his TODA ITBs last week, he is still waiting on his head from portflow though, i'll have him reply to this thread when he gets online.
Mikuni's are swell... But you have to do a lot of jet drilling and chokes are unobtainable... and I don't think the shafts are on ball bearings... I'll have to check my set to be sure..
How did they work for him? Bet they sounded great!
We're running the Toda ITB on one of our cars, and yes it definately requires a standalone. It's driveable on the stock ecu, but it won't pull in the upper rpm ranges and will idle around 1200. i'd look into an ECU that can caculate fuel without the map sensor, something with Alpha-N capability.
To do the fuel you'll need to change your fuel supply line to AN (via adapter), and you'll need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator (ie. SX) that runs AN fittings. you can convert the return orifice on the SX back to a barb fitting, so you can keep your stock return line.
