Default whats wrong with my accord help!!!!!

ok my lady has a 2000 ex 4dr sedan with the f23 sohc vtec motor. well her ride has been running fine for a while now. but all a sudden for the past 2 weeks when we drive the car while cold everytime it changes gears the rpms go up really fast then come down everytime it changes gears until the car is warm then it stops it kinda feels like say your driving your car and you accidentally put it in neutral then you put it back in gear like that. whats wrong with her car. of course its an auto tranny.

I know this answer is goen suck but this is what honda says....

Delayed Upshift After Cold
Start
NOTE: This condition occurs on A/T-equipped
’98–01 Accords, ’96–01 Civics, ’97–01 CR-Vs, and
’99–01 Odysseys.
If you get a delayed 1st to 2nd and/or 2nd to 3rd
upshift right after a cold start-up or when the
coolant temperature is below normal, there’s no
problem— it’s a normal characteristic in these
vehicles. The high rpm upshift helps warm the
catalytic converter to reduce exhaust emissions at
cold start-up.

So your saying the engine "surges" close to redline THEN shifts gears? It sounds like you need to change your fluid first and then you may be headed for a new transmission.
But first have it flushed with ATF-Z1 and see if the problem goes away.
