Default My new setup!

The last motor I built had ring issues and I think the machine shop screwed me since I was told I was getting ACL race bearings but got something else (not honda or anything the new builder had ever seen). Anyway, I changed builders and the machine shop so hopefully this build will be a success.

Built by Scott @ Bseries aka (RustyShackleford)
All machining done at VW Paradise in Escondido Ca
Specs:
B18c1 82mm bore
LS 89mm crank
LS rods w/ ARP rod bolts
Topline p73 pistons
Head mildly ported by Tristin @ Bseries
BC4 cams
BC springs
Blox TI retainers
BC cam gears
AEBS IM
RC 310's

I am still in the process of putting everything back together so I will try to update when time allows it.

I really like how nice the bores look. The last shop I went to the bores looked much rougher!

Cam lobe comparison- stock gsr on the left BC4 on the right

I dont need a stupid hot tank! I have my dish washer! AEBS IM after some port matching work-

Head and block mated!

Since I spent alot of time waiting on either money or parts I decided to shave the bay and do a respray!

My dog helped too!

how did you get the ls crankshaft to fit in the gs-r block, I was thinking about using an ls crankshaft in my b18c1 as well, what all do you need to have this done, I'm searching for answers so I can get this done as well, by the way awesome build..

Nothing is needed to fit an LS crank into a gsr block except bending the oil squirters out of the way just a tad to clear the crank.

so if I was to use the ls crankshaft, I could also use the ls rods as well right? I will be ordering aftermarket rods anyways, but as I can see you are using stock ls rods, so what I would order is some aftermarket rods for the ls right? thanks for the input.. sorry if I sound dumb but this is something new for me.

I'm not sure what aftermarket rods you would get, but make sure that they will work with the 89mm stroke. I had to use the LS rods because the GSR rods would be too long. You probably wont need aftermarket rods anyway depending on your setup. LS rods with arp rod bolts are plenty strong for my application!

I finished putting the everything back together last night. I'm waiting on my new fuel filter setup to arrive so I can drop the motor in. I should have it running by Sunday if my new chip gets here by then.

Geez the cam gears look orange in the pics. They are really a true gold color.

It was a PITA cutting the holes for the cam gears. I used a big hole saw with a 1/2" drill motor. I had to bolt and clamp another piece of aluminum to the bottom of the cover to center the hole saw where I needed it and then clamp the cover down to a table.

Can't go wrong when you go through Scott. What kind of header is that? What engine management will you be using? who will tune it?
Best of luck-Gil
