Permit question.
Does anybody know if you need the same stuff as you did for a driver's license??? Like proof of residence and **** like that? I'm going to take my written test on Wednesday and need to know what kinda info I need?
Also, is it possible to get a dirtbike insured and registered for road use??? I want to get like an 80 to learn how to shift. (I'm new to this so I wanna start small to learn how to shift and ride) I just feel like I'm going to kill myself learning on a real sport bike. I went w/ my friend to look at them today and they looked like suicide machines.
Is this a stupid idea??

i don't know the answer to you license question but i do know that you can get a dirtbike registered as long as it has all the needed lights(turn signals, brake light, headlight) and you will need a title

Depends on your state. Why not check your DMV. If you have a driver's license already then all you need is a written test for a motorcycle permit. OTOH if you have nothing, then I presume you'll need all the documents and take the tests.
You can get a dirt bike registered for road use but you'll have to go through a DMV inspection (as opposed to a normal motorcycle safety inspection) and most insurance companies will give you a hard time getting it insured. Dual sports were made for this purpose.
