speed sensor unit?
hey guys,
the car: 94 accord lx manual tranny
my speedometer and odometer stopped working and I need to get them working again as I am about to drive from florida to minnesota and I do NOT want any speeding tickets. i was told by a mechanic like 6 months ago that it was the speed sensor unit, having no idea what this is or how hard it is to change, im hoping someone will have a manual who can scan the pages that I will need. if you can help that'd be great.
btw the car has like 167k with just another normal motor from another accord so the mileage isnt right anyways, i would never sell it without telling people either so dont think i have scammed the future buyer(if i dont drive it till it dies) out of miles.

Nothing to tough on this replacement; go to the throttle body where it meets the 'snorkle' tube. look straight down and you'll see a 3 wire connection on top of the differential, that's the jewel. A long extension and 10mm socket is what you'll need to get it loose; Heads up, there is a very small round "key" that goes between the speed sensor and it's drive shaft. Don't lose it.
any pictures? and or an actual manual? i am not too mechanical but i do have the basic skills. and a lack of tools, but i have friends that i can borrow. i honestly have no idea what the throttle body looks like. I am a motorcycle guy and my accord just gets me pt a to b when its raining. thanks for the post, as i do have the confidence that i can do it now, just the fact that i dont know what it looks like or exactly where it is...a manual or pic would be great.
