dohc zc in civic hatchback???
i am getting a civic with a stock dohc zc. its fully rebuilt with no miles. the only mods to the engine will be i/h/e. and the car will have the rear interior stripped out. and it will be lowered with springs and struts. i was just curious to what the hp number on that motor are stock, and what they would be with the bolt ons i will have. also could anyone give me an idea of what the car will run on the 1/4 mile.
thanks alot
oh and if anyone anyone could give me some other ways of getting more power, with out spending to much money, i have a very short budjet.

im assuming you mean the 88-91 j-spec dohc zc..its rated at around 130hp..its a good engine,,theres really not much you can do for cheap for getting more power..Maybe a nitrous oxide kit....or save some $$$$ and do a home made turbokit..
yeah for another 800 dollars my friend will put his turbo kit on it for me. but sadly i dont have that much money.
i heard that these motor are good for about 10psi on stock internals? and if they are properly tuned i can go as high as 15psi.

15 with VERY good tuning.
You'll need prolly some upgraded internals if you go higher...

10-11psi is the max you can go using the stock map sensor,,,,As for the engine power I would keep it around 200-225whp with a really good tune if you want it to last some..

what do you mean by bench racing?
i'll more then likely have to build a homemade turbo kit. sence i cant afford to buy a kit. i know how to weld so could someone give me an idea of what i will need to do this. like turbo, intercooler, bov, piping, etc.
thanks

The DOHC ZC has rods that are in comparison to the LS rods in strength, so if boosted they shouldn't be first to go. I would actually be more worried about the ringlands going poof.
