Default obd...1...2...blah,blah,blah

i searched, and search, and searched, but have not found what im looking for! what is the deal with obd1 or 2? what is the benefit of swaping them out? or does it just depend on the engine your gonna swap? or would it benifit me to switch to an obd1 on my 97 teg gs?
wha tis the deal with obd? i know it is the o2 sensor/ emission control set up, but i dont get whats up with switching from 1 to 2 or vice versa?

people swap to obd1 usually in order to run programs such as hondata/uberdata/crome/etc. is one reason. second obd1 has a lot less codes and is less prone to throwing check lights and going into limp mode. obd1 ecus are also cheaper and easier to find.

so would this be a recomended mod ? i have straight bolt ons, cai/ex/in man/out man/ plugs/plug wires. would obd1 conv be a good choice? i dont have the cash to go into the engine or go turbo, or super. so how much and what would i need to go obd1, or is it even worth it, since i dont have any "tunning" in my car?
thanks for answering, ithought this would be one of those topics no one wants to answer to because they think you are an idiot for not knowing the answer already

just bolt ons i wouldn't bother with it, it wouldn't be worth the hassle of swapping it over or the price of a p72. if you want to do fine tuning i'd find a used vafc and play with it.

apex'i vafc is a little box that allows you to adjust your fuel maps in intervals based on % correction. i have a vafc1 i'm not using anymore since switching to standalone management i'd be willing to get rid of for $150 if you're interested.
