If you install that bar on your 98 hatch without any kind of reinforcment, your going to destroy your subframe. A real CTR has a special subframe designed for the stiffer bar. A-Spec Racing makes a reinforcment kit with an OEM honda ITR bar (22mm) just for your car. I suggest you buy that instead since you won't notice the 1mm difference anyways...

actually CTR sway bar is 22mm.. so basically the same thing... jdm ITR sway bar is 23mm

anyway basically what 94eg! said, get ASR reinforcement kits + 22mm ITR sway bar combo.. you won't have to worry about finding d-brakets or bolts or wateva

Thanks for the info guys.

Now right now buying a whole kit is not an option due to budget. Im located in Ontario and the CTR sway i can get is local for a good price.

Can you recommend any reinforcment i can purchace that will go with the CTR swaybar??

I have a write up and installation on the ASR kit but if i can have a setup for cheaper that would be better for me.

Thanks.

If you buy the reinforcment plate separatly, your going to have to hunt down extra parts to mount the sway-bar. A-Spec-Racing.com sells the kit without the sway-bar, so compare your separate piece prices with the price of the complete kit. Chances are it will cost the same or more to it all separatly...

I could be wrong...

okay, if you can get the CTR sway bar less than $100, then just go for it.

ASR brace (just the brace) $180 + shipping and tax so approximately $250
you have to go local honda shop and find SIR endlinks and swaybar bushings which will be less than $200 i assume.

so it comes to max of $550 altogether. around 450~550 for sure.

IF you get the ASR brace + sway combo, $340 + shipping and tax, which will be around 400~450. SO as you can see, it's about the same.

so up to you. If it was up to me, I would just get ASR sway combo, since they are all brand new and comes with everthing needed.

Interesting.

I can get the Sway bar for $80.00 Canadian. I just found out that it comes with the endlinks and bushings. so its pretty much all complete. all i need are the D Brackets to mount to the subframe brace.

If i were to buy the CTR SB i would probably buy the ASR Kit from passwordjdm

One little question. I know there is a 1mm difference in Bar diameter betweeen the ITR and CTR but is there any other differences between them????

Yes there is. The ends of the bar that attach to the end-links are different. The CTR has flat ends that bolt directly too the end-link. The ITR bar has large eyelets that house fat bushings to allow the end-links to pivot.

ITR style:

CTR style:

You would need these spacers from ASR to adapt the proper EK end-links (99-00 Si) to an ITR sway-bar. Your car cannot use the ITR end-links...
