Well i had to fight with my junk camera to get the flash gone so it would NOT reflect back. o well. you get the point. If you have ever welded alum. then you know 2 soda cans are not fun as thin as they are. This was my first attempt and I also was in a rush as i did this practically walking out the door to leave. I got a decent (somewhat 'cold') bead laid for a inch or so. The cans were dirty and still had leftover fluid in them as i stated i had no time in this to actually try. Overall i am happy because i am kindof new at tig welding and i hear people never being able to weld 2 cans. I had a very hard time getting a stable arc between the two cans also...
Here is the second collector I made. I had a friend cut my first collector and I later found a guy with a saw I could use and made this one myself....I did this weld by (walking the cup) still gotta get that technique mastered...

thanks guys. i will get more pics of the 2nd try on some cans today. i got the bed damn near flawless 100% all the way around!
but at the the VERY end the acetone that was still lingering in one can blew up on my arm from the tig torch

in most cases, the unstable arch (which likes to jump from can to can) is caused by a bad ground... clean the cans next time, and i bet you could have it lookin really pretty!
