yea i was wanderin if there was a difference between the two motor? i have a b18b in the car now but i have a spare b18a so i was wanderin which motor has more hp/tq does anyone know?

 

'90-91 B18A1 - 130hp, pre-OBD
'92-93 B18A1 - 140hp, OBD-1

'94-95 B18B1 - 142hp, OBD-1
'96-01 B18B1 - 140hp, OBD-2

And if memory serves me correctly the HP differences came in due to the cams and intake. Giving it an extra 10hp.

yeah 92+ had different cams then 90-91, ..there might be some ecu differences to,,not sure

 

ya just the fuel maps are a little better with the ob1 and up and like you guys said slightly more aggressive cams

 

Also, the B18B head casting has bigger intake ports. And the B18B intake manifold flows better (its runners match the size of B18B ports).
