My set up right now is

Skunk2 stg 1 cams
itr t body and intake manifold
JDM dc header
2.5 exhaust
hondata s100
full competition head/welded chambers/milled head

Compression on my b16 is @ 10.7 right now and is making 190hp and 127tq on a dynapak. Would you guys chime in on what upgrade cam is ideal for my setup? power band is decent makes power till 8500rpms then drops.

Want good midrange with power to boot till 8500rpms

Another Question is My valve spring setup right now consists of Type r intake outers on the intake side and type r outer exhaust on the exhaust side with port flow inners on both in/ex. Is that set-up suffcient enough to run more aggressive cams than my stg 1 or do i have to upgrade?

Welded chamber and milled head yet still at 10,7 C/R. Not much cam upgrade if u still want to stick at 10,7.Try searching

 

At 10.7 I would leave the cams you have in there. If you want a better midrange I would look into the BC3+, but they are gonna lack the top end that your S2S1's have. If you were around 11.5 or 12.1 and wanted power to 8,500 I would opt for the S2 Pro1. If you wanted to rev past 8,500, the M22x is what I would personally do...healthy B16's love the M22's

 

I did search already most of the ones i found have cyl heads untouched unlike mine, oh well. 10.7 only with welded chambers still using stock head gasket. I calculated my compression if I'd switch to like a mugen or spoon and would put me @ 11.0 . Hopefully the bc3's would give me good gains or maybe skunk stg 2s. The Rockets are a bit pricey for me.

S2S2's are gonna kill your powerband, and the M22x's are too large for what you have also. Check this graph of a BC3+ vs. a S2S1...

 

would the valvetrain I have be good enough for the bc3? check the specs on my first post. I like that graph So BC3'S would be a good upgrade for me regardless of my compression 10.7 or should I up it more?

 

as you can tell the bc3+ beat the s2s1 through the entire powerband until about 8100 and the s2s1 stat to fall off at 8500. look at the midrange power and tourqe the bc3+ give you over the s2s1. i just bought a set of bc3+ to swap out for my s2s1 but have yet to put them in yet, i cant wait for the midrange. so if your gonna stay at 8500 i would go with the bc3+. but its up to you ~20hp and ~15tq in the midrange or 2-3 onthe top end its up to you!!
