88 si, rear discs conversion = 89+ shocks?
i want to do a jdm rear disc conversion. I have a 88 si with koni yellows. I know that the 88's have the elbow looking rear shocks on the bottom, but would i have to get 89+ shocks if i do the rear disc conversion, or could i keep the 88 setup?

I agreed....the rear disc really don't do a whole lot on the back when compared to the drums. And they are close to the same weight.

That sure will be expense to get those shipped over here. Especially when you can just get some USDM rear disc and do the same thing.
You can get whatever shocks you want you just have to change the LCA.

thx for the info guys...its gonna cost me around 200 for the whole conversion. i just like changing brake pads rather than shoes...i know it won't make that much of a diff in braking...they also look cool too.
