Axle instal tips?

Default Axle instal tips?

ok im putting my stock d16 in my crx and all i need to do is put the axles in. ok i got the passanger sid ein no problem. but on the driver side i cant get the hub to move out of the way. it was soo easy on the passanger side. any tips to get it to budge. i mean its only the bottom bolt correct? teh one like right below the brake rotor?

yes and the steering rod that way you have room to smack it back and forth so i goes right into place...need to use serious force sometimes smack the damn axels in

Line it up and get someone on the other side to hold the axle straight while you jam it in. takes me about two tries while under the car holding the middle of the axle and pushing in.

Some people say if you put the little snap ring opening on the bottom it helps a bit but I never had any issues. When I had problems it was because I wasn't putting it in straight.

haha ya the passanger went in to easy i was so suprised and this one i cant even get the hub to move i was very frustrated. LMAO! anything else?

i dont think i will have a problme with the axle itself. its more along the lines of getting the damn hub to move. the bolt that pokes out the bottom wont come out the top. its very irritating

Disconnect the lower ball joint and push the rotor aside. No problem.

To do this, jack the lower control arm up and stick a breaker bar in the gap between the ball join and the lower arm. Then slowly lower the jack and the joint will serparate. Some people use a socket to do this but I've had much better luck using the handle end of my breaker bar.
