Take away the "Performance" part, and you are right.

Greddy sp seems like the only big name you all missed.

From other people's opinions, it seems the Greddy SP/Tanabe G is pretty loud. DEEP tho. What you are asking is a very subjective question. But if you ask me.

I would say Apexi WS, Old school RSR, Spoon Sport axle back, Tanabe Hyper, and lastly Mugen (which is not quiet, but not super loud either - like in the middle).

I heard Mugens before, it's to loud. I'm trying to make a sleeper, just look at my name. I want something that sounds stock or quieter than stock if possible. Something with a better look and smaller sound with bettter performance is preferred. I was thinking about buying that apexi silencer and putting it on, but I don't know if it would slow my car down. Any other suggestions?

This was exactly my experience - my G-Power was pretty much undetectable from inside the car - certainly couldn't be heard over my intake. Conversely my buddy Stephen had the Tanabe DTM and it would blow you away. Loud, deep - chainsaw on steroids.

Thermal R&D makes a stealth version exhaust which looks to be of the same quality as their classic systems.

my tanabe DTM is way too loud, at around 3000 rpm.....

I'm thinking of getting a new quiet exhaust too...

Why's apexi WS' performance bad?

Heh...Its a nice deep rumble. But there is droning during hwy speeds, to me thats loud. Its ok inside the cabin but outside is diff lol!

Apexi WS is not straight thru and I think the muffler is bit more restrictive, but thats how it keeps the sound down.

Thermal R&D they have a Stealth system that sounds exactly what you're looking for. It's a sweet sound, there is a guy that comes to autocrosses in the Northern Va area w/ a 4th gen that has the Stealth on there and it's a nice note at WOT and very quiet at cruising speeds.

All the stealth's that I've come across are almost as loud as regular thermal systems... and they're all FI too. FI is supposed to keep thing quieter than NA but this may only be the 3" systems. I'd take the stealth over the normal anyday but it is by no means quiet. If somehow you could get an oldschool rsr, that might be quiet enoguh for you w/o being excessively restrictive. Just remember that no free flowing exhaust is going to keep quiet under wot, but some keep their composure until you wail on them. I think a couple months back, someone on here was selling their stock. Might want to search for it and keep your fingers crossed. Also consider an inline pre-silencer... helps keep turbo exhaust just a touch less harsh but still plenty deep.

The apexi silencer may quiet your exhaust but they only fit on exhausts with huge tips (90mm, 110mm). So then youd have to get a muffler with a big tip and that would sort of ruin your whole sleeper concept wouldnt it.

Muge, mugen, mugen. I love them.
My friend had one on a '94 lude. No it wasn't made for it, but King modified it slightly to fit, and it sounded great!
