power windows ... aftermarket... how to remove?
i bought my civic with these retarded aftermarket-put-in power windows that are now broken. they are the ones where you have caps on the gear that is accessible from the outside (i dunno how clear and i can describe it) and it runs a machine on the inside. i am looking to just gut this stuff out and i have no idea what it looks like inside or if i'll render my windows useless in doing so... how can i go about restoring manual windows?
the motor is usually just mounted on the door and take off the gear that holds it to the window crank. take pictures i can show you how.
is there anything special done to the window crank? i want to know if i can just get replacement handles to return it to normal, or would i have to completely gut it and get new doors.. damn the PO on this one. i'm gonna have to get a new center console too, and track the wires back to the relay that controls these stupid power windows. aHH
