need help...i was loading my car up and my battery died...i tried to start it and it clicked a few times and just stopped...all lights were dim and was obvious my battery was dead...tried to jump start it and let it charge for a while and all the lights are back to normal and all but still wont start and wont make that clicking noise...

i was able to get it started by poppin the clutch down a hill but then after i shut it off..same thing...

anyone here know where to start???? a friend of mine said it could be the starter...i called a few shops and they said there was no way of knowing unless i brought it in...any advice....

Lol, unless you have to do it in reverse...then the cylinders spin backwards....

 

I hope someone can help...I'm posting here cause i'm on 'trial' or whatever, so closest related-thread i guess. I own a 1990 honda accord exr...this morning the battery light came on and felt really sluggish...then the radio went and lights were dim, then smoke out the front left side!!! I got it towed to canadian tire in canada...anyway...the guy told me that my alternator went along with my fan belt, gonna have to pay 500 bucks...my question is how can i tell if they put in a new alternator or a built one? and also if my battery's life has decreased cause of exhausting the battery to get home....going 20 km to get there, barely made it, i cried it was awful...i love my baby, i mean realistically problems will happen the thing is 10 freggin years old...k...had to vent...thanks

ehh...figured it out...took the starter to autozone and tested it...it came out fine...took the battery in too and that was fine too...but the idiot at the second autozone said it still could be my starter...even if it test OK...

tried to get me for 109.00...

when i got back...i just popped the starter back in and it started up...i think the started died in the OUT ( retracted ) position when my battery died or it just got stuck...
