I just changed my distributor and started my car after sittin for a long while, and the car started but it idled like crap. i want so ideas on what it could be, when i try to rev the car it studders really bad and only revs to about 3k before trying to die out. PLEASE HELP

 

It actually sounds like you crossed your spark plug wires, its easy to do. Should be the first thing to check.

 

check the fire order befor n e thing and cap and rotoe

 

i checked the firing order, and it was correct. i'm now going to check the tps, think it may be bad

 

I'm wondering the same thing, my buddy has a similiar problem, bump for an answer

 

Two things: timing and plug order that's about it besides a bad dizzy.

 

I just installed a motor once and thought I had the plugs hooked up right at the cap. Anyways, it ran like *** and I looked at the distributor again. Then the firing order. I started at #1 on the cap and installed the wires going the other direction on the cap. Cleared my problem right up.
