Default Unknown issue. Cluster lights on 99 auto accord v6 coupe came up last night....Help please

so i was going to my brother's house for dinner last night but my integra was parked inside so i took my dad's accord out. the maintenance required light has been on for awhile and everything drives normal and as soon as i get on the freeway the:
parking brake light
battery light
and open door lights and brake lamp light goes on.

im like wtf happened so i drive as carefully as i can to my brothers house just in case the brake lights went off. after dinner we checked up on it and the brake lights worked.
just now me and my dad checked all the fluids, fuses, and disconnected the battery and redid it but nothing happened. lights are still on. what's going on?? this is a 100% stock car and has been smashed on maybe 2-3 times around last year. HELP!

Alternator went bad. If you have a voltmeter, test the battery voltage with the car off, and then again with the car running. If the batter is still fully charged (which it probably isn't if the alternator died), it should be around 12 volts with the car off. With the car on, it should be somewhere around 14-14.4.

Obviously, if there's no difference, or if it's less with the car on, your alternator is no longer charging the system.

Sidenote: Don't just go out and buy an alternator just b/c I said it died. Make sure that it's really the problem.

thanks for the speedy response. if it is the alternator, is buying a new one the only solution? and if its not any other guesses as to what the problem is?

It's the alternator. Just do the test to be sure.

You can always pick one up from your local junkyard. They're usually less than half of the cost of a new one.
