B16A 3-4 Synchros
New to the forum.
My 91 CRX DX has been sitting in storage for 3 years. I did a B16 Swap in 2001 it did fine for about 15K miles... but I lost the synchros for 3-4 slowly but surely. Motor still runs great but I want it to be my daily driver so i want to repair the transmission. Where do i get the parts for this Tranny?
Thanks a bunch,
Jim

I believe you can get them from honda, but take your vaseline cause your gonna need it. But i would suggest some synchro mesh before you spend that kinda coin. goodluck

p.s. try the "where can i buy honda parts for my car thread"

tried that thread, and I'm pretty sure these are JDM/NZ only parts originally. I was just wondering if those parts are available in the US or through a reputable foriegn source since this is such a common swap and common problem. I thought someone here might have a specific experience with this issue and know a go to vendor.

How about USDM synchros? Although the gear ratios are not the same between, say, a USDM S1 and a JDM S1, this is not important. After all, synchros match the speed of the gear with the shaft it rides on before the gear is locked to the shaft. So it is really only fitment that matters. And if the synchros are the same on a USDM S1 as on a JDM S1, they should work. The same goes for YS1 synchros.

I was hoping someone here might be able to confirm that these are the same as some USDM transmission. Then I could go to Honda parts store today and order something.
the closest you might be able to get cable jdm synchros would possibly be from a 90-93 integra with a cable gearbox (excluding YS1, since it's virtually a hydro gearbox with cable housing).

Actually, the only synchros likely to work would be a 1990-1991. All 1992-1993 Integras use a YS1 transmission.
