You can get a used one on http://www.craigslist.com for around that price. I sold my Lincoln 175 MIG on there the same day I posted it for $400. If your looking for brand new then $300 won't buy you much of a welder. I got my brand new Millermatic 251 MIG for $1699 and that was on a special deal that I had with my local welding supplier. My MIG sells for as much as $1850 shipped when purchased online. The MIG I have is probably to big for the jobs you need it for but I'm just tryin to give you an idea on what these things cost.

I recommend a clarke welder for your specified budget...I have an 130EN and works well for the price tag, I actually plan to get the 180EN when I get 220v in the garage.
