Quick question? rule on aftermarket seats with cage (mounting)

Default Quick question? rule on aftermarket seats with cage (mounting)

Does the driver seat have to be bolted to the cage in the back???
so that way u can t adjust the seat forward or back to get in/out of car

Any help would be great

Yes, if you have an aftermarket seat you need to bolt it to the cage. It should be in the NHRA rule book.

well there are custom brackets that u can fabricate if the seat somewhat near the main hoop area. there is also jegs and etc... but if you need to mount your seat closer to the steering wheel check out i/o port racing supplies? they have some sort of adjustable things support. i know you need them for like kirkey and think sheet racing seats but as far as sparco, momo, etc... i'm not to sure... hope this helps.

Any aftermarket race seat has to have the Drivers seat braced 4" from the top.

This is regardless if you have a roll bar or not!

Section 6:2 of general regulations covers it!

here are some pics of my interior with some custom seat brackets, its alittle over kill but better to be safe then sorry

what do you do with a sparco seat???? i have a speed i was going to run, and plan on using sliders so i can move the seat. anybody have pics of something like that?

same problem im having, i have tenzo r w/sliders but im not goin to be able to use the sliders if the seat has to be bolted to rear bar

i had to get rid of my tenzo r's because my head was hitting the roof with my helmet on. he hee. i hope you figure it out dan, you have stockers to put in? if not we can peel them out of the beater if you need em.

i have stock seats in all my eg's (3 plus race car)
not to mention i have tenzo r DTM non adjustable style could be different
