EF/CRX forum did not help. Maybe you can....
1990 civic
B16a1 converted from dpfi- mpfi.
Car has a long startup, but once running it idles fine.
When you snap the throttle it bogs like craaazy.
And if you snap it to wot, it bogs and eventually backfires through the intake.
You can gradually open the throttle and it will rev up.
only when you snap the throttle open.
The TPS is set correctly.
Compression is 180-175-175-178
Fuel pressure is 44 psi. < could that be it? Stock fuel pressure is 38-40 psi
Timing apears to be dead on.
Motor is Stock, besides an Action stage 1 Clutch. B&G fpr, and a 255 walbro fuel pump.
Car has a 100% brand new Distributor from Distributor king.
New Plugs, Wires, PCV valve, Fuel filter.
Ecu throws codes for Engine coolant temp and oxygen content.
I went through the flow chart for the coolant temp sensor and all checks out. And it says to try a knwon good ECU. So i plugged in a SOHC si ecu. (only one i had around). And it still bogs and backfires through the intake.
Fuel has been in the car since Fall. But i dont think this is the problem because it would not idle that great.
Anyone have any ideas?

well they look to be right did you check your coolant maybe that why it's throwing a code for the ect bump for some more help for this man
It bogs wether its cold or or at operating temp. So i dont beleive it is a coolant problem. And the flow chart for that code i did. And everything tested out fine.

when we did my buddy's car we had close to the same problem. this is what i had to do
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1463205
the diagram was off, had to end up switching some wires and it all worked.
i think you either have a tdc, ckp, cyp sensor problem, something is not right.
i dunno about the coolant temp sensor problem. anyway you can datalog it?? does you coolant fan come on after it warms up. i know they are diff sensors, but humor me.
good luck!

Cooling fan does not come on... What do you mean by Datalog it?
How can test the tdc, cyp pos sensor and ckp circuits? Just test the ohms of the wires?

i wasnt sure if you had it setup to datalogg using ecucontrol or something pgmfi.org for all you needs.
coolant fan should come on. is there a sensor on the thermohousing??? or a 2-prong one on the back of the block??
you can ohm the sensors. check helms for the specs. its something in the wiring of those sensors i garauntee. i got to the point where i just started swaping wires to get it to work.
do you have a good wiring diagram?? you will need one for the dizzy and harness.
good luck

good idea, definitely worth a quick look! just pop off the valve cover and upper t-cover and can tell.
everyone says you cant get a dizzy 180 off, but i did once. havent been able to do it since, and you really shouldnt be able to. but somehow i did, maybe you did too

Dizzzy only goes in one way so its not that.
I took the valve cover off, and locked the cams. And everything was lined up ..

ive heard of problems coming from aftermakret fuel pressure regulator's because they dump too much gas in uncontrollably sometimes, also maybe you need to adjust your idle. Also maybe you have a bad throttle cable, just a thought, good luck with the fix.
