Default need help...motor revs instantly

So i got my car to finally run today...i set the crankshaft to TDC, then the cam to TDC with the timing belt off then put it back on...went to start the car and on the first shot it started right up....now heres my issue....i have a line that goes form the intake manifold that should go to a little black piece of plastic on the intake manifold...see picture i circled it....but the black plastic thing isnt there its just a metal line with it clamped on both ends going from line to line...could that be why my car just instantly revs up when it starts?...when i turn the key it starts up then revs instantly up to the redline..i wont let it go that far cuz i kill it but is this my problem?....or is it something else....lmk guys i need this car running right asap thanx...heres the pic....NOT MY CAR!!!!

o yea i forgot its an 89 Civic Si with the D16a6 so yea it has an intake, header and exhaust....let me know i need it runnin asap!

please help

did you just recently install a TPS? Where are all the vaccum lines routed to? Disconnect the MAP and TPS and see if your revs drop. If they do you either have your TPS installed wrong or your vaccum lines are wrong

check your throttle body and your throttle cable to see if they stuck open...

that is your pcv valve and wont cause a high idle like you are talking abuot...

also check the map sensor but i dont think thats it i dotn think that would make it rev up to redline

Looks like your saying WTF about the zip tie holding the AEM injector wire cover...but I'm sure you mean the PCV valve. You probably have a vacuum leak somewhere. If I was a betting man I'd say it had something to do with how you have the FPRs installed. Disconnect the 2nd regulator, connect the stock one how it should be then try cranking it.

TPS is what it sounds like. Do you know where the TPS is located?

loosen your throttle cable all the way, to make sure the tb isn't just cracked open. That'll make it rev up quickly in neutral.

Same thing happenned to me when i first did my swap

Started it up and it ******* flew to redline, Id never driven a manual so I thought maybe I had my foot on the floor, i killed the power asap and dad flipped on me

Cranked it again and once again it flew to redline, dad starts ******* flippin to get off of the gas

I knew I defintely wasnt on the gas that time, did a quick once over, took off my intake and what do ya know, throttle cable my dad just tightenned had it completely wide open

Problem solved, thats probably your problem

Maybe this will help with your FPR.

http://www.c-speedracing.com/h...r.php

Also, on my SOHC ZC, (equivalent to a D16A6) the TPS turns opposite of the stock engine, so you have to switch the outer two wires w/ each other on the TPS.

First of all, you cant run two regulators on this engine, it will not work properly. Second, check your vacuum lines and hoses. Even a little vacuum leak will cause your engine to idle higher. See it all the time on peoples cars I fix. Even a tear in the diapragm inside the brake booster will cause your engine to idle high. Also if you've had the intake off at all, make sure the intake gasket is sealing properly. If you've removed the throttle body at all, make sure you installed the gasket and T/B properly. Listen for any hissing other than the intake sound.

a cracked intakegasket can cause the leak to occur or just the tps or try the idle adjustment screw that could be it too happened to me before and it was one of those two things just dont remember
