Default Tranny spline question - how much play should there be?

I have a 92 Integra LS tranny and I went to test fit my ACT disc on the tranny, and the disc slips on but there is alot of play between the disc and the shaft. Like I can twist it quiet a bit, it doesn't fit snug. The disc looks like it has more of a square spline, and the tranny shaft is more pointed.

sounds like you have a 90-91 tranny, they have a smaller spline than the 92-93 cable trannys, what is the code on your trans?

There is a gold sticker with A1-xxxxx on it. Is this the code? I was told by the previous owner it was a 92 tranny, but they could be mistaken.

BTW, the tranny and disc both have 24 splines if that matters.

The A1 is a 1990-1991 transmission. It would appear that somebody had replaced the transmission at some point in the past with a used transmission from a 1990-1991 Integra. This is why there is so much play. In order to make this work, you need a small spline 1990-1991 disk. And by the way, both transmissions have the same number of teeth on the input splines.

Yep, ordered a ACT 6puck disc for a 90-91 tranny, and it fits perfectly! According to what I've read, the pressure plate is the same for all 90-01 Integras, so mine should work. We'll see this weekend.
