i have a d15b vtec pulls pretty hard for a single cam, you can even hear and feel the vtec x-over... dont expect the power out of it like a b16 though... the d15b is a good reliable motor expecialy for the money

When you say fully built D15b vtec,,what do you mean by that? Sleeves, forged internals, ported head, large cam, etc? and turbo or N/A ?

Stock the B16a engines usually produce around 140-155whp..Depending on alot of things..To get a Sohc vtec to get 150 whp will require high compression, ported head, larger camshaft, custom ecu, good header,,etc,etc..But a stock D15b vtec with boost can make and handle around 200-225 whp with good fuel management ..Also with the d15b vtec you'll have to convert to obd1 or hack up an obd0 mpfi dizzy to fit that head..

ya exactly lol like what he ^^^ said above, what do you mean by fully built? just the most expensive internals you can buy and put it in there? going N/a is expensive, trying to gain like 30-40 hp out of a sohc going N/A is expensive, yes it would probably beat a STOCK b16 but if your willing to dish out that much money, i would just go forced induction for like $1000 (plus putting it in), get an engine management system (hondata, uberdata) for like $3-500 (boost option) get it tuned (couple hundred an hour) and your done.

You have to check if home made turbo's are legal in your area/vehicle.

B16a is super quick, and if you are looking for super high revs go for it. I used to rep B series all day long, but i've had some pretty gnarley D series competition...weren't Turbo but built to hell....Imagine what a built T Dseries can do. But like they said check your forced induction and smog stuff. a lot easier to bar a b16 then it is a Turbo D series. research research....

wow....in any case i meant in comparison to what he's got now. Maybe you should go work on your car instead of coming up with witty things to say on a forum.

i wish i had the money for a aftermarket clutch, i can feel my oem clutch slowly losing its grip just through gear engagement at stop to go.

and ya lmao, b16's are super quick? they run like high 14's stock and mid 14's with bolt ons, which is probably close to $3000 for the complete motor swap with the bolt ons, cuz ya cant forget that C0LD ÁIR INTAKE Y0!!

d15 vtecs are pretty quick for sohc's
i have had both a d16z6 and a jdm d15 vtec in the same car and the d15 pulled harder than the z6
you would have to get custom pistons for the d15 tho

what you mean by you need custom pistons for a d15? for like if you wanted to rebuild the block or what? you talking aftermarket pistons? ive heard of custom pistons for a d15 a couple of times, just confused by it.

its stock for now except for a i/h/e and a chip from phearable.net... the best mod so far was the chip with the p08 maps and no top speed limiter and some other goodies... i plan on running a 100 shot zex but im still deciding its a d/d

as for hp i would take a stab at 140 at the crank i could be wrong though... that chip worked miricles i swear

built d15b? good luck finding pistons, they are going to have to be custom made. Vitaras(which are lower compression than most aftermarket) stick out the block on the d15b. just so you know...
