Default part of wheel bearing stuck on hub-side. (88 si)

I had to replace my wheel bearings on passanger front. I thouht everything was going good. Goot the old bearings out. New ones in. BUT.... I noticed on the Hub side, part of the bearing is stuck on the thing (as you can tell i'm not to keen on parts). It spins in place but it allmost looks like there is a ring holding it in place. I don't see how this would be since it would have been inside the bearing. . Ugh well if this makes sence to anyone please help me out .

STUCK!!

This is the other side. No prop taking that off.
If no-one has any ideas about that. What year civic's would i be able to get what i need? Good thing junk yards are open tomorrow.

That "ring" is part of the bearing assembly, It is not uncommon to come apart when pushing the hub out of the assembly. You should be able to use a cold chisel and either work it up the shaft, or if your careful use a dremel wheel to split it and slide it off.

According to the factory manual, there is actually a special Honda tool makde simply to remove this piece that stays there. But you probably don't even want to know what that tool costs!

Very easy to fix. Take a die grinder, or dremel and cut diagonally across the race part just enough to make a groove. Put a chisel in the groove and hammer away. The groove and chisel will cause the race to crack, releasing the force fit on the hub and then just use the chisel to work it up the hub.

I usually use a bearing separator on the press.

Usually have to make space for the separator with a chisel though.
