Default Car died today, need a sanity check.

Ok, so this morning I put a kill switch on the fuel pump. Tested it and drove around the block with no issue. A few hours later I drove down to pep boys to get some stuff. As I turn into pepboys the check engine light comes on and the car dies.

Get it towed home, un do all of the kill switch wireing and solder the yellow black wire under the rear seat back together. Go to start the car, cant hear it priming and CEL is solid. Check the ECU, no blinks or solid light. Nothing.

Check the fuel pressure guage (thank you eda6) and it reads 0. Hot wired the fuel pump and it primes and fuel pressure goes to 40. Still no start.

A year prior I re-soldered the main relay but now its my best guess that its dead. I possibly introduce a short with the kill switch and fried it, thats my only guess.

What do you guys think? Should I order a new relay or is there something else I can check to narrow this down. Everything electrical in the car seems to work, I cant find any blown fues and it still cranks.

Sorry for the long post, I hope it will narrow down the problem.

You fried something for sure.

Test your ECU in a friend's car before you order a new relay.

did you disconnect the battery and resolder the wire before you checked the code?
still got that fsm i gave you? there's a detailed how to on testing the main relay in there.

I'd go to pick a part and get another main relay and see what happens.

Reset the ECU via the fuse and pulled the negative terminal on the battery also. Does the light on the ECU light up when you start the car normally? I cant remember..

I think there is a crx at the pick a part, I'll go see if the relay is intact.

I grabbed 3 main relays from the pick a part, either all 3 are dead or the problem lies elsewhere. Guess I will go see if the ecu is getting power.

Pull your relay, and then check to see if it's blown, if it is, resolder it and keep on EFing it.

I finally found my copy of the helms fsm. Sure enough it led me to a the alternator/solenoid fuse #14. I swear I checked that fuse with the multimeter but as always I am retarded.

Now to Ebay those 3 main relays I picked up today. Turns out they all work.
