Default Tranny Identification!! PLEASE HELP!

So, my tranny is giving out on me and I'm planning on buying another one. I like the tranny that I have right now. Alot of people tell me to just buy a new one since it cost so much to rebuild the synchros and eveyrthing. First off I went to look at the tranny I have now. It said S4C - 107xxxx. I look it up and it said that its a CTR TRANNY. Now I am aware of how rare and expensive CTR tranny are. But I thought they were excellent tranny where the synchros would'nt be shot out like it is in the one i have right now. I was just wondering how can I identify the tranny without having to use the SERIAL becasue someone can just switch it up. and is a S4C really a CTR tranny? If so I think I might just keep it and rebuild it since its so rare and cost so much. Thank you in advance for ur help!

Where did you find out an S4C is a CTR tranny? The CTR tranny is the same as 96-97 JDM ITR trannies and all USDM ITR trannies. Those are not S4C's. The S4C does have the same gearing.
