The Y-49 curse continues...
Well last night around midnight my new neighbor hit my CRX...hit it hard enuff to bend rear subframe about a 1/2 inch...impact dented the rear quarter...then it pushed into a F150 in front of it busting the turn signal...smashing front corner of fender...bending hood...scuffing the front cover...ripping my bra...Man I'm bummed...have to wait for police report on tuesday...then off to the body shop...with my luck will get totalled out...

That sucks bro, the chick that sold me my 88 crx si back in 1998, just totaled her 89si(Y-49). It was a head on collision, and not her fault. She came out of the hospital today after this happened on thursday. A lot of bursing from the steering wheel in her chest region, but shes okay.

Hopefully the subframe is not as bad as you think and the body work is easy to fix. If the frame is ok, or fixable, then you should okay to get a new fender, hood, bodywork in rear, and call it a day. But it all depends on the frame, let us know bro.
I got the estimates the other day...One for $2600...the other is $3900...Anyone ever bought their CRX back from an insurance company? How much did you have to pay? Any tips on what to do? Thanks in advance as I'd really like to keep my Rex and hate to see it totalled out....
if they total it, get prices of crx's on ebay, on here and autotrader, etc., because KBB/NADA is cheaper than the REAL fair market value...looks like you had no rust?
it's mainly rust free asided from the sunroof and one spot on the hood. I'll just have to see...Still waiting on their adjuster to contact me..I got too much invested in it now to just let it get totalled...
I recently had two late 80's vehicles get "totalled". I had to pay $200 for one and $350 for the other. My tip to you is to clean the hell out of it before the adjuster sees it. Also, gather all receipts for parts and work done... although mechanical stuff didn't get me very far with the insurance company... they are more impressed with a new paint job rather than a new suspension for some reason. Also, I know where you can get it fixed for kinda cheap (not paint, though).
I'm with you man. I just installed a first gen B16 2 weeks ago and found out my front (rear ) crossmember was cracked. So I took off the crossmember from my donor car and took it to a shop to have it installed and found out my rear (back of car) crossmember was cracked as well. So I went and bought a 2004 Civic si. But I will stay on this forum to help others out. Damn that Y49 paint!!! Now I got to find out what I am going to do with the rex.....

Sucks that it happened. If nothing else, look for the silver lining via the irony.
You never could have seen this coming when you 1st put that bra on.

I have a donor 88 Crx Dx sitting in my yard. I think that I am going to take everything from my Crx si and transfer it to it. So I will continue to be on the EF forum. There isn't any other car like the CRX!!!!!!!!!!
