Default G35 Driver wanting S2000

Currently I drive a 2005 G35. There is nothing special about the car. Its pearl white with color matching HRE. 285/30/20 rears 245/35/20.

Ive been lookin into an S2000 as my FUN car. Sleeper and clean. But when you wanna go. It GOESS. Maybe i wanna get around 350-400 rwhp.

Since i dont know much about S2K's im here to do some research. Would it be easy to gain this much power outta the engine with the stock internals? Which year is the best to get. I know the 01's rev up to 9K and thats what i LOVE. The newer ones dont go as high.

Any help about this would be very helpful.
Thx

Just gear it with a supercharger and an emg for tuning and you will have a ton of fun with the S.

I know what you mean by wanting the S from a G, my lil bro has a G and loves to drive my S cause he says that its more track oriented

The G drives like a pig

HAHA as long as im not the only one who wants an S when he has a G.

My G is more off a "PIMP" car. Can go fast in it. Only cruise.

I want an S2K for fun.

Thx for the info

My bro gets pissed when he sees that cause It give me more ammo

Good luck on your hunt!

as a former owner of a '04 6mt g35c...i can say that it does drive like a pig. its fast, but no means fun like the s2k is. i love my s2k.

i also have a '04 g35x which, imo, is a more of a blast to drive than the g35c was.

as ive told other guys, if u just test drive an s2k u will buy it. it puts this huge smile on your face. if ur trying to spin the tires on a new one at the dealership jus remember once u break it in, u can get them to spin easier without destroying the clutch.
when u drive it ull say wow then u research it and its only putting out 212hp to the wheels and ull be surprised what the car can do with that, then if u put it up to 400 hp ur talking about a serious performer

for something to just toy around on the streets u dont need that many hp to do what u want, but its a good choice to make after u get a feel for the car.

as far as which year to buy, the new ones have glass rear windows with defroster, the older ones have plastic that gets real crappy. and ur talking about 8k vs. 9k rpm's...if ur gonna tune the car to 4oohp ull wind up changing the rev limiter setting anyway, i have an 05 for the paast year as a daily driver that i have a lot of fun in, and i do lay on it at times, and i have 0 problems, i just put in ceramic pads because the stock hondas are **** and turn ur rims black every 3 days.

Ok dont hate on the G35's. I just bought my 2006 G35 and I love that ****. I had a 2002 S2000. The car was fun, but I like the G35 alot better. I mean reving to 9K was fun but the G35 has something the S2K will never have. Torque. Besides, if you want 400WHP turbo your G35. You should be able to get 400WHP off of 8-9PSI bro. IMO, a turbo G35 is a hell of alot more pimp than a turbo S2K. Dont get me wrong, both pimp, but the G35 got it beat.

Got it beat in what? Cargo space? I do think the G35 is more practical than the S, but that's about it. The S will murder the G in auto-x, and around a track, I have yet to see a G35 post a faster lap time than an S2000. Plus, most will agree that the S2k is more fun-to-drive. I've driven 2 G35C's and was not impressed.

A turboed G was an option. But i want a smaller more fun-to-drive car with a turbo.

The G's quick enought stock.

Small, fun car? Look into the Lotus Elise/Exige, if that's what you're looking for. Small, fast, uber-fun, but it definately doesn't make a good commuter.

You can even go smaller with the Ariel Atom. Want something super small? VW GX-3!

Getting a brand new S is GREAT!

BUT a boostd 400hp S2000 is something else. Have you ever driven one with low boost or SC?

You get that much hp in that little of a car, and dont treat it right you will be spending more money on clutchs, gears <--if you cant drive a boostd MT, tune ups to fix what ever you fried from ragin it out.

Just think over what expectations you want to get out of your S2000. Best of luck to you though.
